Play as Gold and Black characters:
After unlocking the SP versions of any character, go to the character
selection screen. Hold L and press Start (for Black)
or R (for Gold). When you begin playing, the versions will
retain their powers from mission mode (Infinite Tension for Black
versions, and Mega Speed and Infinite Tension for Gold versions).
Note: You can only play as Black and Gold Versions in training
and arcade modes. Note: Gold version characters do not regain
health. Also, Gold versions exhibit stronger powers and are much
faster than normal characters. However, the speed only applies
to some characters (for example, Sol-Badguy, Johnny). Some moves
will not only look different, but can deliver more hit than their
normal counterparts (for example, Ky's normal Stun Edge will deliver
three hits when played as a Gold Character).
Damion Rohman.
Hint: Gold character advantages:
Some character will have special feature when they
are gold. All characters will have increased speed, except Cliff.
Brig taylorX2.
Gold Sol: Will recover slowly, has unlimited tension and "Dragon
Install". His moves will be be twice as strong.
Gold Ky: Only will have more powerful moves. His Stun Edge will
hit three times and with HS (B), it will hit ten times.
Gold May: Will have more powerful atacks. The Dolphin Attack (Down,
Forward + any non-kick button) will hit seven or
more times.
Gold Jam: You do not need to use his special charge. It will use
his Dragon and Phoenix Kick at the maximum force.
Gold Bridget: His "Bear Attack" will last longer. His
attack power will also have a great increase.
Gold Johnny: His "Mist Finner" will instantly kill any
normal, Ex, or black character, but leaves with a bit of energy
to gold enemies. If you toss coins to the foes, it can do up to
999 damage (except for Ex Johnny).
Gold Venom: His ball launch attack will be at maximum force without
charge. Also if you use his Pool Rain, all the balls you launch
will be at medium force.
Gold Eddie (Zato-One): All his attacks will have more power.
Gold Slayer: Most of his attacks will have increased force. Also
when you strike any enemy, you will recover energy by the amount
you hit them with.
Gold Millia: His attacks will become stronger.
Gold Dizzy: It will have infinite Dark Cape (the same used in
Ex). His Fire Scythe will do up to twelve hits. Also his Ice Monster
attack covers from all.
Hint: Johnny: One-hit kill:
In arcade or training mode, select the Gold version of Johnny.
When the fight begins, at any time use any version of Johnny's
Mist Finer and the enemy will be instantly defeated. Do not use
the EX version of Johnny because the catch version of Mist Finer
will not one-hit kill your enemy.
Damion Rohman.
Hint: Johnny: Warp:
When playing as the Gold version of Johnny, perform the motion
to run. Johnny will not run, but instead "warp" to the
other side.
Damion Rohman.
Hint: Alliances in arcade mode:
When playing in arcade mode and on either GG or GGX mode, there
are alliances to watch out for. Alliances are when two characters
come after one another that are either friends or enemies in the
Guilty Gear storyline.
Sol-Badguy to Ky-Kiske
Johnny to May
Anji to Baiken
Dizzy to Testament
Note: These can also work in the opposite direction (for example,
Ky-Kiske to Sol-Badguy).
