Slow motion robot animation: Hold Up on controller two.

Freeze opponents: Hold Up + A on controller two. Note:
This has no effect on the eight robot Bosses from Mega Man
2 that are found after defeating the eight robot masters.
The code will freeze you but the Boss will continue to attack.

In the Wii Virtual Console version, hold Up + 2
on player two's Wiimote. This will not prevent enemies from moving,
but will delay some enemy actions such as shooting. This may not
work on some Bosses.

Super jump: Hold Right on controller two.

Invincibility: Hold Right on controller two during game play.
Find a pitfall and fall in. Sometimes if you wait a few seconds,
you while hear the sound of Megaman dying and your health will
totally disappear. Jump out of the pit and you will have invincibility
as long as you do not collect any health capsules. While you are
holding Right on controller two, you will have super jump
and can fall into pits without getting hurt and be able to jump
high.

Super password: Enter A3 B5 D3 F4 blue, A6 red as a password
for all weapons, items, nine energy tanks, and no Dr. Wily Robots.
Enter A6 red as a password to start a game with nine energy
tanks.

Dr. Wily level: Enter A1 A3 B2 B5 D3 F4 blue, A6 E1 red
as a password.
Walk through pitfalls: Hold Right on controller two. This allows Mega
Man to walk through or jump out of pitfalls without dying. It
is especially helpful in the Dr. Wily Robot level. Note: When
jumping out of the pitfall, the jump is twice as large as the
super jump. Note: This will only work if the pitfalls are fairly
long.

and C.Armstrong.
Invincibility: Hold Right on controller two while jumping into
a pitfall. Then intentionally get killed by an enemy while in
the pitfall. Jump out of the pitfall when Mega Man's death sound
is heard. Megaman will be invincible as long as an energy booster
is not collected. Although the use of the regular gun will be
lost, the spark shot or the needle will work just as well.

Hear full music: To hear Protoman's full theme at the end of the game,
hold Up + A on controller two just before Mega Man
prepares to teleport out of Dr. Light's lab. This will freeze
Mega Man in mid-phase, and the Protoman theme will continue as
long as you keep him frozen.
Alternately, if you still want to see the ending but want to hear
the music, just let the ending go but hold Up + A
on controller two. The ending will run, with Megaman "slide-running"
like Gumby. Megaman will stop at the big tree and freeze while
looking up at the sky. When you are done listening to the theme,
release the buttons.
Hint: Get Rush Jet immediately: Use the following trick to get Rush Jet without having
to defeat Needle Man. You must first defeat Shadow Man. Then in
the next stage, pause game play, highlight Shadow Man's weapon,
and press Right. No weapon will be highlighted, but you
will see Rush's icon above the next symbol. Press Start
and you will be using the Rush Jet, except with no energy. Collect
a weapon capsule in this form and then use any amount of its energy.
Pause game play and you will see the Rush Jet is freely accessible
from this point forward. You can also do a similar trick to get
the Rush Marine, but you need to defeat Spark Man. You can only
get the instant access for it if you are in Gemini Man's stage,
since the Rush Marine is only usable in water.

Hint: Protoman's whistle: Press Start while Protoman whistles to hear
the full tune. Note: You must press Start while Megaman
is still controllable.

Hint: Defeating Wily's two forms: In order to defeat Wily's two forms, you must use the
punch on the first and the snake attack on the second. Nothing
else will do damage -- make sure you have plenty of both weapons.

The top spin will defeat Wily's second in one hit if done properly.

each robot masters weakness (referring to the recommended weapon
the player should use to easily defeat each Boss). Although the
fights are not perfectly executed, they do effectively demonstrate
how to utilize each weapon at Megaman's disposal. They are a compilation
of all original 46 robot master fights, in no particular order.

Glitch: Gemini Man stage: In the Gemini Man stage, when you arrive at the screen
where you normally would wait for Protoman to unblock the fall,
if you do a sliding jump and fall through it, passing Protoman,
two things happen. First, the Protoman music plays, then ends.
The Gemini Man stage music will not play. Second, as you play
the stage, when you normally would get to the Penguin enemy it
will have changed into a snake enemy, but it will still shoot
penguins. This is a hint to use the Search Snake on Gemini Man.

Glitch: Misspelling: After defeating Shadow, Gemini, Spark, and Needle,
there will be an intermission sequence where Dr. Light is talking
to Mega Man. When Dr. Light is talking to Mega Man, he says that
"Dr. Wiley took GAMMA". In all the other Mega Man
games on NES, Dr. Wily is spelled without an "E" after
the "L".
