Anyone else excited for this game?

It's a fun series and this is probably a good place to start since its a prequel

I've heard good things about the Yakuza series, but I've never played any of them.

You should check it out, think of it as Shenmue, but more accessible in terms of no fork lift driving, a lot more action paced, story moves faster, lots of fun mini games If you have a ps3, can probably get Yakuza 3 for around 20 bucks on Amazon, good place to start, has cut scenes of previous games. If you like quirky Japanese stuff, lots of it here

0 will be a good start too if you have a ps4, but will cost you 50 bucks or so on Amazon.

I've not played Shenmue either, but again, heard good things.

    I don't own a PS3 anymore. I'm definitely interested in Yakuza 0 as a start, since it's a prequel.

Loved it, a lot of fun. Finally beat it after 47 hrs, could have put in a lot more if life wasnt crazy right now.

Loved the Caberet mini game, wished it wasnt such a grind so I could have finished it.

Game of the year for me (until Persona 5 gets here)

It's a lot of fun, I love the series as a whole. It's very quirky and Japanese at times. A couple side quests involve helping a band put on a fake tough guy image, buying a dirty magazine (and not being seen/judged), finding a secret super porn tape and pretending to be someone's boyfriend when their dad comes to visit.

It has a serious story, but the side stories are often light hearted (but not always) and act as a nice change of pace
