Still plugging away at this game. I have made it to Kaer Morhen
and helping Yennefer try to uncurse Uma
, the castle itself was pretty impressive when I first walked through it its almost maze like. And evne though you see it in the very beginning of the game, really walking through the Kaer Morhen area is really impressive, visually I think its the best looking place.
Also knocked out a TON of secondary quests and helped
the woman, can't remember her name, become the Jarl of Skelliger
    .
Ive said it before but I think im going to do my best to focus on just the main quest for a while and once I level once more to 26 i'll upgrade my Griffin gear to Superior level. I'm also thinking about the Wolf gear but according to my Treasure Hunt category I have 6 different scavenger hunts for the Wolf gear so it might be more time than im willing to put in.

They aren't that bad, some of the pieces you find in your travels, others you can find notes, but worst comes to worst, find their location online and go there. I did that for the best cat gear schematics

I did the drunk 'quest' with the other two Witchers. It was funnier than I would expect from a game like this or a character as serious as Geralt. I definitely had them put on Yen's dresses.

Also a trailer for the first expansion was released. I don't know where this will fit in the time line of the main game but i'll definitely be getting it. Also the other two Witcher games are 85% off through GoG until the 10th. The Witcher 1 is $1.50 and its the only one I dont have, really I should just get it already.

Haha, yeah, that Kaer Morhen quest was one of the highlights of the game for me. So awesome that they include missions that really don't have any fighting or something bad happening. I feel like most games only use cut scenes to set up the next plot point whereas you can just enjoy a show in the Witcher. Another that comes to mind is the Pricilla song cut scene. Just great to add more to the story without being vital.

I read somewhere that the Hearts of Stone will be a level 30 (level 60 NG+) and fit into the game within the main story. Basically like a really long secondary quest with a new story and new characters to it.

It happened to me when patch 1.07 came out. Everything near water made the frame rates plummet (on PS4)... this was unfortunate because I had just made my way to Skellige. It only lasted for 2 days, though, which I found strange since there was no patch that fixed it.

I haven't had any lag issues, but I'm on PC. Since the last update I have had an issue where the sword hit sounds don't play about 50% of the time I fight monsters. Its just a quiet thud. And since day 01 I have this bug where NPC's carrying boxes walk funny taking ultra huge steps.

Had someone make me the Wolf Armor and then upgraded it to Enhanced. Used it for half a level until I leveled to 26 last night then has some Superior Griffin armor made and now i'm using that. In my quest to reach the level 26 required to use the Superior Griffin armor before progressing further in the main story I inadvertently completed a good portion of monster quests so I don't even have much left to do aside from exploring and the main story line.

I'm at the point where I have to recruit people to help me defend Kaer Morhen. Dijkstra said no because I didn't help him earlier, I'm not sure what he's referring to since I helped him with every quest he gave me. I went to Emperor Emrys and asked him, he kind of gave me a non answer, said he wanted me let his own general command everyone at the fortress and Geralt said no, but Emrys still didn't say he wouldn't help. Guess i'll find out come time. In Skellige the head Druid said he'd help and I still have to ask an Crac and Cerys but im sure they'll say yes.

I'm thinking im close to the end.

Ehhhh, you're not quite at the end yet but the story picks up massively, especially if you have very few monster quests and left. Once you do the Kaer Morhen quest, you're going to accelerate into the ending quests quite rapidly.

That's also best part of the game. I thought it was the ending, but it turned out not to be.

Ok, so when it does finally get to the ending is it pretty obvious its about to happen? Do they give a clear opportunity to go tie up any lose ends you might have before starting the final quest?

Yes. You will get to a point right before the ending sequences start that you will be free to keep doing side quests.

I just beat the game. What a ride that was, its easily become one of my favorite games of all time. Everything about it was mind blowing and I kept wondering how a game like this could even exist. I dont know if I can go back and play Witcher 1 and 2 now after the incredible feat this game was.

While I thought the build up to the last battle dragged a bit overall it was really fun, especially playing as Ciri and going around one hitting everyone. The last two boss fights were a lot easier than the other guy you fight by that giant tree, the Aen Ell guy with the mace. The last two guys patterns were easy to remember and attack.

The complaints I have are the same as I mentioned earlier. Leveling in relation to quests was off and I would get new quests with a suggested level of 19 while I was 29 and i'd get 1xp for my efforts. It didn't really catch up to my level until the very end of the game. Also a few ! quests were bugged and wouldn't let me activate them. I think there was a sound bug where sometimes if I paused the game or went into the inventory the sound effects of the sword hits and blocks would be very low to muted.

In terms of the story it was 95% satisfying, I dont know if I got the good ending or not but I was happy with it. I just wish I knew what happened to Avallac'h, Yennefer, Triss, Phillipa, Vernon, Vez, and anyone else I met in the game. I also found it odd that there was hardly any acknowledgement that we assassinated Radovid which related to that I killed Djikstra in the end because he was starting to piss me off. I ended up tied to the bed by Yennefer and Triss because I told them both I loved them earlier in the game...I deserved it

The game was worth the time put into it and its bitter sweet that the story of Geralt is over. Its not that I want another witcher game with Ciri but I do just want to keep hearing about all the adventures of the characters, they're all so well written. After this I can't wait to see what they do with Cyberpunk 2077.

That's pretty much how I feel across the board. It was a long game but so well made that it never dragged too much. Also one of my top 5 games ever.

I can't wait to do my second run through this game, but MGS V must be beaten first.

Has any of the updates edited the journal where you could hide quests? That is the one thing I really want to do is hide quests I have no interest in

As far as I know that feature hasn't been added. I'm waiting for the expansion to come out next month which should hold me over til Fallout 4.

Hearts of Stone has come out, anyone picked it up or is everyone feeling Witcher fatigue? I'll probably get it in the next couple days here since it feels like a full on expansion from days of yore and not some stupid DLC.

I don't have the game anymore, but I'll probably try and get it from the library so I can play this.

Buying The Witcher (and to a lesser extent, Bloodborne) so soon has kind of turned me off of buying games as soon as they come out. I had no issues with the game's performance, but it seems like they've made so many updates and changes that it's a different and better experience now. I beat the game twice before NG+ was even a thing, so I don't even remember where my game has left off.

I'm in the middle of a "don't spend any money except for bills" month for a budget exercise I'm doing, so no, I don't have it. Come November I'll probably pick up the season pass. I heard that the HoS missions are level 30 quests or 60 in NG+, which doesn't matter a ton for the experience because I'd be just in it for the story and extra content, but I finished the game at level 38 and will probably blast through these.

I wouldn't say I have Witcher fatigue (which is actually an awesome ailment that I've seen described in a ton of other sites) but I'm not hyped to jump back in, either.

I'd say most people dont play as fast/often as you.
I want to get it, but I also want to get it before Fallout 4 comes out because once that hit it will easily consume free time used for games. If Fallout 4 is as big as im hearing I dont think i'll be done with that game until some time next year at which point I dont know if i'll want to go back to the Witcher.

I had it. I loved the story, but it overall wasn't a great game to me. I gave up on it prior to the expansions and it seems I made the right choice because they haven't changed what bothered me about the game itself.

So I just met up with Yennifer in my second play through, my goal is to do mostly the main story missions, and important/memorable side missions. I will be doing most things different, shooting for one of the two good endings, got the bad the first time. The only major choice I'll probably keep the same is
I plan to still assassinate him as I don't like his dislike of witches
I'm going to go all in for Triss as well in terms of romance instead of trying to romance both

Primarily? The lack of reason to level. Once you hit 30 in this game, there is absolutely no need to level. Which to me, made NG+ and the xpacs completely useless as well. They didn't expand the talents or gear and thus rendered the point to leveling useless.

If I wanted to just make different choices only, I could easily start over, rather than NG+. Thankfully that was free. The expansions were simply side stories I didn't have a desire to spend money on.

I do agree that we needed the talent tree expanded, all these skill points and only so few to equip

I like the NG+ because I don't have to hunt for all the potions and equipment I spent hours trying to get the first time. I was going to use console commands in my replay, but then NG+ got announced so I didn't have to do that

I played on Xbox One, so console commands weren't an option. I didn't even use many potions. And was able to make everything as a played. Never had to go out of my way to find many ingredients.

I did all the missions, even when I was 10 levels above them and it didn't bother me that I didn't get anything for them. Usually this bothers me but they did such a good job making quests interesting that I played them pretty much only for the story and not about the rewards.

That's probably why I have trouble finding faults with the game.

I dont think this game was necessarily about the leveling. I could have stayed level 1 the entire game and still enjoyed it because the story lines were so interesting.
If you just want to level up, grind, and skip cut scenes you might want to just stick to MMORPG's

    Just found Triss, beat
and got what I would consider a good ending to that story line, I got a not so good one the first time I played
