[School of Battle] The Speak in here *Out of Character* thread

Discussion in 'Forum-Only Games' started by Torturous Flame, Dec 10, 2008.

  1. You're not the only one who has done his utmost to put the past behind him. I used to be bloody awful. I cannot believe, for a second, that I thought myself good. But, that's all behind us now, eh? The atrocious writers of yesteryear.

Now, why am I here? Well, to be perfectly honest, I'm not sure. Nostalgia, perhaps? Desire to lurk in an old haunt? At this early juncture, I am unsure. But, I'm always interested in role play.

Well, you have good grammar, so I'm sure we have seen worse! :D

  3. Oh, I'm fantastic. Truly. But, I don't want to sound too arrogant, do I? :chuckle:

Where in Britain do you live?

Heh. Be more specific. In a non-stalker way.

  7. Let's see, here; how can I be entirely honest, whilst at the same time being irritatingly and pointlessly vague?

I'm where the Dmitri made port.

Meanwhile I'm stuck over here in paradise where your ancestors sent us to rot. Oh god don't punish more people by sending them to amazing continent/islands!

Evidently, you English weren't amazing at the whole "Punisher" role. :p

  12. Boss, eh? Yes. I very much like the sound of that. Keep it up. :D

It's a pity, though, that the SoB appears to be dead. I remember the days of daily, manic activity.

Am I to assume that you are an Aussie, Unwanted?

Depends when we sent you over, I suppose. Winter would have felt like a bit of a bitch.

    You'd be right. ;)

Not so much. Considering it's warmer for our winter than yours. We don't get cold enough for snow... ever.

  15. Ah, Australia! Located a quarter of a mile from the surface of the sun, and with spiders so bloody big that they have health bars.

Its funny for me because also being an aussie I started seeing all these memes and rage comics about people finding a spider in their house and running like hell and I'm like "Wait, so its not normal to just see one in your house every now and then and insta-kill them? people are actually scared?"

cus i grew up basically finding a huntsman spider in the house on nearly a monthly basis, so you learned to just be quick with the shoe before they hid somewhere.

i live in uni student accommodation now and i get a lot of foreign students staying here and they are so easily freaked out by bugs and other small animals, its gotten to the point where they actually knock on my door to tell me theres a 'big lizard' (actually a tiny gecko) in the kitchen and i go in and theres people cowering in the corner and standing on the chairs and i literally just walk in pick it up and throw it outside and im like 'wtf is wrong with you people?'

took me ages to figure out that its not normal to be like that, its aussie, people say how all the animals in aussie are tough, but the people are tough as well, and i'm not bragging or anything i'm actually considered a weak nerd by australian standards XD

Yeah. I guess it's just what you expect. I would be pretty surprised to find a gecko in the house. :D

I think this is the largest number of people holding a conversation that I've seen in here in months. How's things for you guys? Not much here except crazy weather and I'm finally getting a PS3. My first three games are Infamous, Star Ocean Last Hope, and Valkyria Chronicles.

And is it possible we might get some RPing done? I don't post anything because I'm afraid of it just coughing for a day or two and dieing prematurely.

It's going okay. I'm still tempted by a PS3, as there ARE games that I want to play. Not sure if I can justify spending the money, though.

Well on Ebay you get a PS3 Slim used and in nice shape for $170 plus $15 shipping if you're lucky. Though the average price right now seems to be $190 with the $15 shipping. And it also depends on what you want. I don't care about backwards compatibility because my PS2 is perfectly fine so a Slim model number CECH-3001A is great for me. If you want backwards compatibility you're looking at over $200 and you want the CECH-E01 model. That's one of the 80GB systems. The 60GB (CECH-A01) and 20GB (CECH-B01) are the ones that gave the PS3 a bad name with higher than normal failure rates. Though those higher rates weren't by much. People over exaggerated.

Your google-fu must be awful, Andy. I found, purchased, and downloaded it after I saw this post. Try looking for it with Gray Dog Software added on. That ought to do it.

Oh my, that was quick. So yeah, anyone wanna work with me on a database, something that we can keep and pass around, maybe a way to keep this place with us. Heck, it might even get some people interested in learning more.

Im actually working on a sheet for people to fill out, and I will make a few character for the heck of it. I think the appearances will be the hardest part to fill out honestly. Locations, Areas, Dimensions and Timeframes are the parts ill likely need most help with, that and characters. So most of it. lol.

Excellent! Im really hyped for this, I finished the sign-up sheet and it took much longer to put together than I thought. I just dont know where I should start posting this stuff though, Its just for the characters. If anyone else wants to help out I will certainly accept help, and if anyone wants to just throw out ideas, that is just as excellent. =)
