I play dek hockey with a couple of guys who work at Rockstar New England, and even though they are under NDA, when I asked them if they could confirm simply if RDR2 exists they just smiled and said maybe, maybe not. I took the actual facial reactions to mean it's in the works, so I would not be surprised. I'd love it actually.
I've also been offered the chance to submit my resume to them and they'd get me in for an interview, but I declined until I had more of my master's program completed so I could actually have something tangible to present, as it would be a joke for me to apply right now. But that's neither here nor there. I just want this to be happening.
This is pretty awesome news, I loved Redemption and just amazed by the size of that game so I can only imagine how huge a game the new one will be on the consoles out now.
I'm also suspecting this is either a prequel to Redemption or an entirely new set of unrelated characters since Redemption took place at the very end of the "Wild West"
That image is my current desktop photo. Rockstar is the best at teasers. The all red backdrop with the R logo on Sunday morning was great.
I've also just read that Rockstar has bought the domain name reddeadonline.com
It's official. Out fall 2017. Trailer on Thursday.
I just had a nice 20 minute conversation with a coworker about this. I am so excite.
It says PS4/XB1 so I'm hoping its only for this gen and pushing the consoles to full power. With the online aspect, I'd assume they will make it for PC at some point, too.
Yeah, I'm willing to bet they won't look at 360 or PS3 at all. Most AAA titles have abandoned that at this point.
Got I hate NDAs...
Well the map was supposedly leaked already. We'll have to see if Thursday gleans any more information.
It won't be on PS3 or 360. I think a lot of devs were pretty surprised at how quickly the uptake for the new generation was even for games in 2014, and there are already well over 60m PS4 and One consoles. No need to restrain themselves in that way.
I tried playing the first game a while back and never got into it. the large "sandbox" games get tedious after a while.
since this is going to be on the current gen console- none of which i own- i'm not really interested.
There are only a few games out there that would make me consider getting a console to play a game...this is one of them but we have a while to wait and given the trend im hoping it comes to PC anyways.
Calling it Red Dead Redemption 2 is lazy. What about Red Dead Revival or Retribution?
Or the overwhelming fan favorite I've seen online in a few places: Red Dead Garlic Bread.
Probably will have a PC port like GTAV, but I won't wait and will get it on ps4 day 1
Goosebumps. I can't wait to see this thing in all its glory. The train with the bison was just fantastic. Love steam trains.
I thought this game directly related to Red Dead Redemption in some way (Prequel, sequel or side relation). Hence the name.
Because it's the RDR brand that is recognisable, not the Red Dead bit. I doubt most RDR players have even heard of Red Dead Revolver, which was not nearly as popular or acclaimed.
I have no doubt this will be a good game, trailer makes it look like more of the same. Not a bad thing, but its exactly what I expected. GTA Wild West.
I would love if they include cheats in RDR2 like, spawning a car. Then I could play out the ending of Blazing Saddles like I've always wanted to.
Thats why it needs to come out on PC.
Bad news: game is delayed to Spring 2018 - although then again, who's surprised with Rockstar's record.
Good news: screenshots!
I'm okay with that, plus every big title with Rockstar gets delayed. I just hope that we get Mario Odyssey near the holidays so I have something to play. I'll gladly wait on RDR2 for next spring.
I'm okay with the delay, I have so much to play anyways
If it's as good as RDR1, let them take the time.
