Color me shocked, I figured once the committee put TCU at 3 they were saying that this will be the order if all 4 teams win, never would I have expected them to drop 3 spots after a dominate win.

    My 4 would have been
    1. FSU
    2. Bama
    3. Oregon
    4. Baylor

I like OSU, they are my secondary team, so I'm happy they are in, though I think the new QB will get torn to shreds after Saban gets times to watch the Big10 championship game.

I guess this is a message to the Big XII to get a conference championship game, though Baylor played and beat a very good team in what would have likely been the conference championship game anyway.

FSU belongs nowhere near the playoff and are only getting in because ~defending champs~. They've played nothing all year and yet have still constantly been on the brink of losing to bad teams they should have crushed given their ranking.

Also the Big 12 can't get a CCG because they dont have enough teams to qualify for one.

Also TCU's "dominant win" was a completely unimpressive one in the context of who they played.

    My 4 would have been:

    1. Bama
    2. Oregon
    3. Baylor
    4. OSU

The only, and I mean only reason why they're in is because they haven't lost. Even though five teams have clearly been better than FSU, FSU still found a way to win every game (thanks, ACC). The committee wanted to get rid of FSU, that's why FSU was 4th in last week's poll, but they needed FSU to lose, because trying to explain to the masses who haven't noticed that they've leaving out a 12-0 "Power Five" conference champ would be impossible.

I couldn't help but laugh over the Big XII though, I mean the commissioner of the "One True Champion" conference was bending over backwards to accommodate for TCU instead of Baylor because, for some dumb reason, the committee had the former in the top 4, and then neither gets in because every other team was playing a 10+ win team thanks to conference championships while TCU played 2-9 Iowa State. At least Baylor finished ahead of TCU in the rankings. I don't know if a conference championship would've really helped, because those are between division winners and Baylor/TCU would've probably been in the same division and it thus would've been Baylor/K-State in that game anyway.

I'm also sure there will be the angle of the committee putting in "big name" Ohio State instead of some "nobodies" from Texas, I doubt it played that much into the final rankings (right?)

My general opinion is that them being "undefeated" is only getting them in because they're defending champs. Because again, they had a hilariously cupcake schedule and yet still got brought to the brink week in and week out.

Big XII ****ed over Baylor so, so hard in trying to game the system and not name an actual champion. It's ridiculously silly, because Baylor even owns the H2H tiebreaker over TCU and should have been champs anyway, the B12 just completely ignored it.

Yeah, I actually do think this played a large part in OSU getting in over Baylor/TCU. OSU does not have an impressive body of work, which gets ignored every year because of a large fanbase that's guaranteed money. Only reason I even put them ahead of FSU in my personal top 4 is because they at least crushed teams they should have crushed.

FSU's SOS is 34th, not awful, and you have to remember, when you're the defending champ, every single team you play is gunning for you extra. It is hard to keep a streak this long up.

FSU's SOS seems like it's benefitting from teams like Notre Dame being hilariously over-ranked at certain points.

Also "they're the champs, people play them hard!" is a dumb, justification platitude when applied to college football. The sport has no parity whatsoever (especially outside of the top 25, where most of FSU's competition ended up) and there's no excuse whatsoever for FSU to nearly lose to teams like Florida, Boston College, Miami, and, again, Notre Dame. These are the teams a championship-contention team should crush convincingly, or are we forgetting the lesson learned from Notre Dame's recent run at the championship already? Where they did this exact ****, got a BCS berth out of it, then got embarrassed on national television after an entire season of everyone with a lick of sense saying what a stupid idea it was to put them in the game considering how often they nearly lost to very poor teams only to get bailed out in one way or another?

    Welcome to GW.

If Baylor and TCU had played each other for a championship instead of some scrub team, we'd have a different national champion.

If TCU or Baylor played each other or K-State (depending on how divisions were set up) they would have been in the playoffs.

But then Ohio State would have been out of the playoffs instead of FSU. Baylor's performance in their bowl game showed they didn't belong in the top 4, TCU still had a good case, but the wrong team would have been kept out.
