Mmm... burger. I've been craving one so hard lately. I'm trying to limit my red meat to less than once a week but damn that is making my mouth water.

To quote Andy Reid: "It's hard to beat a good cheeseburger."

    Man, now I want one.

What I like about burgers and pizza is that they're so versatile. You can do so many different styles and variations.

I like to use a mix of beef and pork in my burger patties, about 70/30 beef/pork. I find that it helps the juiciness. An all beef burger quickly gets dry if you're not careful.

How come we've stopped talking about pizza? For shame!

So we made our own pizza this weekend, my ex-wife made the dough with a mix of regular flour and durum wheat flour which made it taste great. The sauce was simmering for about an hour to let the flavors really set.

Top it with grated gouda, ham, red onions, chorizo flavored salami and mozzarella. Heaven.

We had some Little Caesar's last Friday. The wife picked up their Hawaiian one and it reminded me how much I like pineapple on pizza.

I just went to one of my favourite local places, Garden Pizza ("authentic NY style"), really good stuff. All fresh, and their sauce is perfection. Lovely stuff.

I've been thinking about pizza all week and today coworkers ordered it before I got here (I had to work from home in the morning partially due to 14" of snow yesterday and because my new window was being delivered) so by the time I got here, everyone was just finishing up.

I haven't eaten pizza in like... months. But I want some now dammit and I'm stuck at work.

You brazen Vermonters, supposedly there's a really good pizzeria in Colchester called Junior's. I have yet to find myself there, but the rumor has it that they make the best NY style pizza in the Northeast.

I remedied it - I got a chicken cutlet pizza for myself for dinner. Everyone else ate tacos but I hoarded my pizza.

I want someone, either an engineer, physicist, scientist or Tom Brady to figure out how to make a pizza that has a surface area of 92% crust and 8% cheese and sauce but not have it be considered a bread stick.

    Hmm...a deep dish calzone?

    Edit: Oh right...surface area...science...stuff...

(guess that's why I'm not a scientist or footballist...)

Little known fact: Tom Brady and Albert Einstein went back in time and fought the dinosaur king for the first pizza recipe.

also, don't get me started on the casseroles they serve in chicago... they may taste good, but they are not pizzas, end of story.

I had really good pizza in Vermont last year. Way up next to Lake Champlain. They had Fiddlehead Brewery attached to the place. I feel like the Burlington area of Vermont does pretty well with pizza.

    nice!

I knew someone whose family owned a pizzeria in new jersey and they had water shipped to them from their other location in Brooklyn to make the dough

I've heard of a few places that do that closer to the East Coast, but NYPD's the only one from AZ I'm aware of that actually goes as far as to use "New York Water" in their dough here. They make a pretty decent pizza, but I've had just as good or better from other places, so I never really go out of my way to go there, but if I'm close by and looking for Pizza, it's not a bad place to stop.

I had a great pizza last night! Thin crust, topped with fillet of beef, onions, peppers, mushrooms and gorgonzola. It was so good.
