Diablo was bad but only for the very first hours. Obviously everybody had trouble when the game launched but from the next evening I don't think I ever had any issues. I think honestly it's because they don't want to spend money on infrastructure that will probably never be used again, since peak activity is usually in the first 24 hours and is much higher than the game will usually get again.

Nevertheless, 11PM GMT has arrived and the servers are open, and I can't connect. To be honest I'm only in because I forgot the game was launching and noticed Battle.net was updating the game. On that note, props to Blizzard for letting us update the beta (120MB) as opposed to downloading the whole thing again.

I think based on everyone becoming available to connect at the same time that they were just late switching it on more than anything.

I'd like to point out for posterity that my KD ratio was at one point 12.

Unfortunately one can only farm kills on Widowmaker defense for so long!

Also, that Tracer on Arcade suggestion was ridiculous. I only played one round but only died when Hanzo did a desparate ulti from his base.

I only die at Tracer on Arcade because I suck and even then, I'm a complete nuisance to the opposing team. I got trapped a lot in Junkrat's bear claw thing because I'm not paying attention.

Really, really, really sick of getting stuck on garbage teams over and over and over again. My winning percentage is a lousy 39%. I've played for 8 hours (in quick play) and only have won 26 out of 66 matches. 1.1 hours of my ~8 hours is spent "On fire".... honestly don't know how good that is, but it's a sizable chunk.

There are times where I'm playing on King of the Hill maps, and I'm the last guy alive on the point despite some times going in with a majority of the team and playing as Lucio. There was a payload match where I played as Junkrat the whole time, had 20+ kills and about half that many deaths, played "keep off the objective" the whole time and we still got steam rolled. I had a payload match on defense where we were getting steam rolled and I switched to Winston (because nothing else was working and I kept getting destroyed by a Reinhardt/Roadhog duo) and beasted our team to a win despite having only a little help.... unfortunately every other time I play as Winston, I get owned.
Almost no one is willing to play as a support character. Everyone plays as Widowmaker, McCree, Hanzo, or Reaper. The most of the few Meis and Symmetras I see are godlike at them but they're never on my team.

I like this game a lot, but the near constant losing is pissing me off. There was a point where I was 7 of 9 with Lucio but now I'm 9 of 17.

Also, I never get Play of the Game, but I'm not salty about that. I'm a better support style player anyways. I'm not great by any measure, but I figured I'd be around a 50% winning percentage.

    And yes...

I feel your pain @Fool's Requiem. It's a pretty common frustration with online games that actually require teamwork. I've had similar issues in MOBAs and Counter-Strike. I'll get Mercy's that refuse to heal me or tanks that refuse to protect me as Lucio/Mercy. Most Genji's are utterly useless because most don't know how to play him properly yet refuse to switch. I've gotten multiple games with 2-3 Reapers or Widowmakers and they all refused to switch. It's also pretty frustrating when I have to carry a team through multiple matches and get zero commendations (not that they count towards anything).

I'm not always consistently good, but I actually try to learn from my mistakes and am willing to sacrifice my life/stats so my team can win. I'm also willing to switch to any type of class depending on what the team needs. Feel free to add me (anyone). I'm looking for more people to play Overwatch with.

Damn, dude. You have a lot more time in game than me and are having more luck than I am. Guess it helps you that you can kill opposing players more effectively than me. I've been relying on Lucio too much as of late because of the lack of support players.

I'll add you. I don't use a mic, because I'd just end up screaming into it, so I use text.... which doesn't make it any better, lol. I'm going to change some of the comms settings so I can say things like "my ult is ready" without typing it down.

I'm a bit behind everyone after the release as I was vacationing in Florida. The 10 games or so that I played weren't too good. Arcade runs ended up being over half an hour overtime fests where half of both teams are Zarya and the game drags on. Whee. Normal games were better. There was only a couple games that were painful with not even competent people in my team. That or the other team was just far better than them and overall we could do nothing. Either way, you can tell who played in the betas and who didn't.

Also, Jawneh#1548 if anyone cares. Trying to get some more headway later today after all errands.

Finally got my first PotG. I kinda knew I was going to get it when it happened. I got like 4-5 kills in a short span right next to the objective as Junkrat and it wasn't all the RIP-Tire ult either.

Also, I'm a bit jelly at how much better you guys are than me.

Bastion offence can be a powerful weapon. I've found that most teams simply don't bother trying to counter it properly, or at least give me a solid few minutes to tear them apart before they finally catch on.

Also had a great moment defending on Volskaya. I was looking up somewhere on the wall near the beginning and saw a peculiar Pharah-looking shadow on it. I turned and sure enough she jetted out a moment later into a face full of bullets. Great times.

In regards to that match I was talking about where I beasted with Winston, I just saw a video of a match on that map. I didn't realize it at the time, but they were really close to winning that game when we stopped their advance. At least I'll know which character to use if all hell breaks loose on that map.

I'm starting to get used to the wheel which is assigned to C.

I've tried to play as Bastion a couple times during the beta, and I couldn't get anything to work.

I'm pretty handy at Bastion. The key is really to keep moving around to stop Widowmaker, Hanzo, Junkrat and Pharah in particular making your life hell. Not only that but you can often catch enemies by surprise by setting up somewhere unexpected, and by the time you are done you have mowed down 3 or 4 of them.

Yeah. What you do with Bastion is move around to either blindspots around chokepoints or just uncommon spots and setup camp. Slay a few people and move before the first one has respawned. Best case scenario is when there's a Reinhardt who wants to shield you and lets you mow down everything in the middle of the map.

Just yesterday the other team decided to rollout all Winston. They did an all class rollout at least half a dozen games. I had been doing Bastion and managed to get over 20 killing spree while they tried to rush the point. In the end a few tried to Roadhog and pull me over for a kill. This happened in Volskaya.

When you're Bastion and you see Genji coming at you, make sure you wait until his block ability is on cooldown before you shoot. Otherwise, you are essentially commiting suicide and have a chance at helping that Genji kill your teammates as well.

Better than (and harder) to avoid shooting at Genji as Bastion is ulting with McCree at him. Just earlier I got a double kill off of the other team's one. Sadly it just ran short and the final bullet for me got me. :(

Reflecting McCree's ult is hilarious. I love doing it. Pharah's as well.

Well, it's really his only way to kill people at close range unless you have godly reaction times and aim.

This week's "Weekly Brawl" is a Hanzo and Genji only brawl on one map with Ults that charge 50% slower (I think) but abilities charge 75% faster. It does not work in the favor off Hanzo because Genji is one of the better counters to Hanzo because of how quickly Genji moves and how slowly Hanzo's arrows fly. Genji also moves too fast for the Dragon's Eye arrow to be useful and the scatter shot is really only good against tanks and non-mobile characters. Nice to be able to practice with those characters without really any concern for winning or losing (even though there is an objective), but playing against AI is better practice for those characters.

Side note: I recently went 22-0 with Symmetra on Anubis and got the PotG (thanks to my turrets). Then the opposing team tried the same thing and failed miserably. Idiot stuck all six of his turrets in one room (didn't want us getting that one health pack) and poorly placed their teleporter. I laughed.
