your ESTATE inherits the loans. So basically, you will have nothing left to inherit to them when you pass. They DO NOT have to pay off your loans. I know at least that much.

I was wondering why your payment was less than mine. Wow, I am jealous. No such program was available for us.

$150k is tough. Really tough. What is your master's in?

    Can she apply for disability?

Without knowing the area, the reality seems to be a new normal.

That is more of a relationship issue, I think...people fall into this trap ALL the time. ALL the time. They're used to a lifestyle but then something happens and you can't sustain it anymore. I can't help much with this part but she needs a wake up call.

Again, I urge a post over in the subreddit I mentioned. They are helpful. You might not think it will make a difference but to me it can't hurt, either.

Exactly, but that's not who I was referring to. I'm talking about the people who will never be able to match their wages with the local costs.

(Sorry I'm not talking about the Switch, I just really wanted to help Jon).

Edit: The un-bolded games are the ones I am looking forward to. lol. Other include Detroit Become Human, KH3, and the FFXII remaster. But I also have a Nintendo husband that will take the Nintendo side of the demand in our household.

Isn't there going to be a new Fire Emblem coming to Switch?

IT with a concentration in game production and design. It's not a bad field, and in a major city, I can make a lot (with even just the IT side of things). But right now, I'd have to take a pay cut to make a switch to an entry level position with a tech company.

She can, but she'd be denied. She's not at that level yet, though she can no longer physically accept 40 hours per week. And likely never again will be able to.

Lawrence is a smaller version of what Detroit is.

I'll take a look. I've never really used Reddit.

And trust me, I appreciate it.

I think it's some kind of Dynasty Warriors thing. I dunno. He knows. I tried to get him to post in here a couple of times but he is a weird sports hermit >=|

Okay, let's brainstorm a little. IT is pretty good. With a master's it sounds like Software or Systems Engineer territory. The loan is do-able if you can just get your salary there. http://www.payscale.com/research/US...ence_(MS),_Information_Technology_(IT)/Salary

So the question then becomes what needs to happen to get that job. Contract work might be one answer, perhaps something on nights and/or weekends to get that experience. Consulting could be a thing. Do ANYTHING you can to boost the resume...the only answer is an increase in income (and also probably to move somewhere more affordable).

Okay, then maybe something else. Part time work. Maybe babysit? Here's another reddit thing, a post I found from spending time prepping to be a mom: https://www.reddit.com/r/beyondtheb...portunity_fell_in_my/?st=iy39dbyj&sh=278aeea7 Maybe something like that where she could take it easy with her back. Hopefully the money coming in from the accident will help. That could provide a buffer to get that entry-level experience. There is also this https://www.reddit.com/r/StudentLoans/ On a country-wide level, to be honest I think some political reform is going to have to happen. The bubble is getting insane. I think eventually this issue will have to be forced. That's why above all else, I am paying for Rick's tuition out-of-hand, we are not taking out loans and delaying paying down other things because of that.

If Horizon Zero Dawn turns out to be amazing, I don't know what I'm going to do. I don't have a PS4, and I'm still not sure I want to get one for only one game. At least Nintendo consoles give me a reason to get it because I know their games will never come to PC as long as Nintendo makes hardware.

Edit: I swear this is the only thread here that I've had multiple posts be made while I'm typing mine. My comment was in reply to Eye's top 5 list.

Horizon Zero Dawn seems to have really high production values and could be on par gameplay wise with something like the Tomb Raider reboot, and with an open world to explore, it could be amazing. But it also could be really crappy. There are some games I can tell will be good or bad but some that I have no read on. This seems to be one of those right now.

I'm getting a big Destiny vibe from it, though.

It has tons of potential, but my worry is that the gameplay will be a bit repetitive. I can't see the game being terrible but I think whether it will be a 7-8 or a 9-10 out of ten is up in the air.

Although that said, apparently the strategy guide is longer than the new Mass Effect and similar to Skyrim, so there's clearly something there.

I just read that Guerilla Games recruited some employees from CDPR for things related to quest building.

    That's promising!

If it's Metacritic rating ends up being 90 or higher, I'm going to have to get it... unless Zelda is like Half Life 2 good in terms of the Metacritic score (it's still the highest rated PC game on the site).

How'd you get on a pre-order? I looked all over and can only find lists for retailers to email me when pre-orders are available.

I've not physically gone to any stores to ask, that might be a good idea. I've just looked online at all of the retailers.

There are also games on the PS4 that won't ever be on PC (or multiplatform games like FFXV and Red Dead Redemption 2 that may never be on PC or switch)

I don't care for either... Final Fantasy most specifically.

For me to buy a consle for one game, it would have to be amazing.

I think I'm excited for the Nintendo because I'm getting burnt out on the style of games being pushed on the PS4/XB1 - its hard to explain. They have to be innovative, or push the envelope, or be something NEVER SEEN BEFORE. They have to rip your heart strings out or make you wish your life was better... or something.

With Nintendo, I know I'm getting quality games that feel familiar and aren't going to make me think too much or feel too emotionally drained.

This is exactly why I'm not hesitant on buying a Nintendo console. The PS4 and XB1 are flooded with the same style of games and neither of them have an exclusive that interests me. All of the Nintendo first party games interest the hell out of me.

I'm being forced to move to Washington, D.C. in the summer, I'm going to have to hold off on buying a new system, even if LoZ and/or Horizon Zero Dawn turn out to be the greatest things ever...

Or I'll just get Breath of the Wild for the Wii U.

I must be in the minority, at least here, Nintendo exclusives don't interest me much, its usually the similar. I want story and gameplay. Sure Ratchet and Clank games are about the same gameplay, a few new weapons, but the writing is funny and I enjoy the characters. Of course Persona 5 coming out and Yakuza 0 which just came out, love those series, because of the stories and characters.

I at times can relate to @The Eye in the Sky! and want something easy on the brain, I am playing a little bit of Super Mario Galaxy 2, though once I got Yakuza 0, I put that down. But even then, I might jump back to a Paradox Interactive game

For me I really want a story and characters, there is a ton of fun to play games, but with my limited time I need a reason to play, and story and characters is what does it for me typically

So the Switch is out on Friday.

Interestingly, the grey version has become available again in the UK. Demand for the red/blue one was evidently much higher since from my retailer at least they cut off first shipment pre-orders after about 12 hours on sale. No such luck in the States, but I'd predict that at least the grey ones will become available sooner unless Americans have some kind of special adversion towards neon.

Personally I went grey. I quite like the colours but I thought a more muted scheme would work better especially for immersiveness in low light. Same reason I usually go for a dark fronted phone.

I have been watching all retailers to see if I can find one on Friday. It seems that Walmart next to my work is getting a bunch of stock and they open at 6am. There is a Target across the street that opens at 8. I'm going to see if I can get one from either when they open and then go to work.

It might be like trying to get a Wii when they came out. I just want Zelda. The previews have been incredible. My hype for Horizon Zero Dawn has been crushed by Zelda until today. I went and got back into the Horizon hype.

I'm still on the Switch Hype Squash in my house. I've successfully toned down the jitters from my step-son. He no longer is focused on getting one anytime soon. Thank the lord.

Those reviews need to stop the hype. I am trying to not go out tonight to see if my local Walmarts have any at midnight... the one near my work that opens at 6am tomorrow is said to have 35 of them but I don't know how many are preorders. I can probably get there by 7:15. I have no idea how big the hype is for the Switch around here so I'm trying to decide if its even worth my time to try.

But man I watched a bunch of Zelda reviews and the the game looks absolutely incredible. I want it so bad. I would have to split time between it and Horizon, though.

98 for a Zelda game says "Console seller" to me.

I wonder if people will review the Wii U version too.

Edit: Based on comparison vids, the Wii U and Switch versions look and perform just about the same. The major difference is that you have to install 2GB of data from the disk on the Wii U version.

It might not hurt me at all to just get the Wii U version, and play that until more games come out for the Switch.

Went to a local Walmart at 11pm last night and was told they only had 8 Switches and there were 10 people waiting. So I left and just chalked it up as a loss since I had a contractor to meet with at 6:30 so I thought I couldn't check other stores.

Couldn't sleep so I left my house at 4am and drove to a Walmart that is usually pretty well stocked. No line so I laid down in my car until 5:50 and saw a person get into the line. All of a sudden a ton of cars come into the parking lot at once so I jump out and get in line. By the time they opened there were 30 people in line and I was 2nd. So I got the last neon Switch and the last Special Edition Zelda available for non preorder people and got home at 6:25 to meet the contractor.

    :D

I think this is what I want to do too, eventually. I'm not purchasing another game until after I've finished Andromeda. But, overall, the only reason I'd have to buy the Switch is Zelda. I'll likely just get it for the Wii U... The caveat is, does anyone know if the Wii U version relies heavily on the GamePad? My stepson's Wii U GamePad is fritzy and doesn't always work. So if it's mandatory, I may just wait indefinitely.
