@Rick52 - just for the record, i don't think the minimal time commitment is that big an issue. We have had many years with inactive players, so if you want to check in once a week at most, I don't think most people would mind. I understand the apathy/frustration aspect of it. If you ever want back in, you always have a spot in the league.

This goes for anyone else thinking of bowing out due to inactivity concerns.

Spoke to Vermin, he is in but wants people to consider draft pick trading.

Since we have a keeper league, it seems either @Coleman or I would have to manually set the draft. I am fine with that, however I would set the deadline for trading draft picks to be at least a week before the draft and both people will need to confirm to me the trade, preferably through posting here.

    What do other people think?

actually, if you enable draft pick trading in the league settings, team owners will be able to use the player-trading interface to swap picks, no commissioner manual-override necessary

    also i'm in

what i looked at made it seem like that was only for non-keeper leagues. I'll see if i can find it in the settings

I found it, but i had to set the draft order to "Manually Set by League Manager" so we will see how that works.

To be honest, I didn't really put much thought into this when I made this post. I just assumed I would want to play again. I actually thought it over this evening and decided that I really don't want to do this again. I love doing this league with you all, but I just don't feel like committing the time to it again. Sorry to back out. Good luck to all this season!

I've no issue with draft pick trading. For random draft orders, it makes sense to want to trade draft picks (though I don't foresee a lot of this). However, since the order needs to be set manually, would we still have random order assigned to us, or would we just go in reverse order of last year's final standings?

    1. you suck and i hope you get *pipe squished*
    2. As I mentioned to rick and vash, think even minimal time committed is fine as this league is just for fun and not taken too seriously. you'll have time to change your mind, and you'll always have a spot waiting for you

we will go in reverse order of last year with the exception of the traded draft picks

I'll do whatever with the draft pick trading and whatnot. Doesn't matter to me.

I have had what we in the GW NFL Pick'em world refer to as a "change of heart." I will play. I think I might try a strategy of just checking in on Sunday to set my team and let it roll and then make any necessary changes each Sunday. Working on a computer at work makes it way too easy to spend time messing with my team all week.

I just scrolled through my team to look for keepers and remembered how my team came together so well as the season went on. From clear last place to nearly making the finals. There are 8 guys that I want to keep so decisions will be really hard.

I'll play I guess, but I still might not do too much.

Also I still stronglys upport the 4 team Playoff. The fewer teams get in, the more prestige it has, and the harder it is to do.

Edit: I'll also play as long as a new rule is added barring shortkut from more 24 moves just because the show is back.

I'm fine with that. I'm not happy with the new show so far. BD and I were trying to decide between *cylinder roll* and *pipe squish* as the only new "move" so far. The first two episodes were too packed with "twists" and the third episode was too predictable.

@The Eye in the Sky! - if we lose some teams, I was thinking of moving it up to 6 keepers

@Jon - like coleman, I prefer the 4 team playoff, additionally, with potentially losing teams, we won't be adding in additional playoff spots

I was just looking at the playoff settings - the regular season would have to shrink to a maximum of 19 matchups as opposed to our current 21 matchups and the playoffs would have to shrink to 1 week long instead of 2 weeks for each match. I prefer the two week long playoff matches because it increases the likelihood of the better team winning

    any chance of this occurring?

Also, anyone have methods of contacting @Northern Lights @JoetheShow or @Noise ?

I know last year andy was hesitant to play, so he might be out with rick.

I just commented on Joe's latest Instagram photo asking if he plans to play and that we request his presence in this thread to confirm.

I think they could be two separate moves. The first was a "keep them at bay" kind of tactic, and then the second was what happened to the one bad guy. I don't have any problems with the show as of yet. I went in with neutral expectations, and they have pretty much met that. Speaking of predictable, I totally called
the senator's dad being the one who framed his campaign manager. He just had that look about him and was asking too many questions.

still waiting on responses from @Northern Lights (presumed no), @Noise (presumed yes), and for @VashTheStampede to make a final decision (presumed yes).

If my assumptions for andy and noise are correct and vash doesn't change his mind, we will be at 12 teams, 6 keepers (unless people want more), and 4 playoff spots (1/3 the league). If we end up with an odd number of teams, I may keep @Rick52 's team active just for even numbers

I was going to try and realized that I have no idea how to do it with this new fancy system. So like a good moderator, I will do nothing and wait for someone smarter than me to intervene. :D

Works for me either way. It was never a huge problem, but with 14 teams I think 4 was just too low. Especially with how hard it was to round out a roster. At 12 teams, I think 4 will be fine. Ultimately, I was originally requesting talking about it if we stayed at 14 because it keeps more people engaged longer.

I'm happy to do draft pick trading and a 4 team playoff system.

Also are we staying at 4 keepers or increasing?
