Chelsea v PSG should be a good match today

    Bayern should stomp Shakhtar

I'm interested to see if Schalke learns from last year's massacre against Real. Also Real seems a little down the last few matches...wonder if Shcalke can steal a win, unlikely though

And then Man City and Barc should be good, though Torre is out for Man City the first match if I've read right

Only watched the second half of Chelsea - PSG. Game really petered out a bit towards the end of the second half before great chances for Cavani and Ibra to win it.

Quite aside from stomping Shakhtar, Bayern managed one shot on goal in the entire game (in the first minute) and went away with a 0-0. Hard to see Bayern not doing the business in Munich though.

PSG-Chelsea was a rather boring match

Real-Schalke was a good match despite the outcome, Schalke so close to tying it late

Yeah, the Bayern game really surprised me. Pep needs to stop playing Alonso and Schweinsteiger together as they don't seem to play well together/they are similar players. Refs were awful, but Bayern played very sloppy refs aside

Well Pep now has no choice as Alonso is suspended. But I agree, it's the similarity more than anything.

City & Barcelona is still my tie of the round. City absolutely carved up Newcastle this weekend whilst Barca slumped to a home defeat against Malaga, but I doubt that will mean anything on Tuesday.

    Yaya can't play Tuesday correct?

Hoping City and Barc is a better match than Chelsea PSG was

Yaya is indeed suspended. A big blow in my opinion - I felt we (Arsenal) did a lot better against City with his absence - but not insurmountable.

That said, as I type Barca have already got an away goal through Suarez after a big slice of luck went their way.

I didn't get to see any of the matches, was hoping BVB would win, will be interesting of Man City can do anything at Barc being at full strength.

Wish Schalke could have pulled off the upset against Real, oh well.

Glad to see Chelsea lose after that **** Oscar pulled in the beginning of the match, and then Costa, what a POS pushing that guy down. Its a shame the ref didn't see it

Costa was incredibly lucky. It's probably the case that opposition teams will deliberately antagonise him because they know he'll react. That wasn't the only time he was on thin ice in the game. That said, Zlatan's outburst a couple of days ago was pretty unbelievable too.

Schalke v Real was unbelievable, I can't believe I had to miss it. Then again, seeing the Bernabeu fans booing their own team before the kick-off was incredibly disappointing. I don't have any strong dislike of Real Madrid but their fans are ridiculous - I can understand the frustrations of a few poor performance and Ronaldo/Bale's poor form, but there's just no need to boo the side before the kick-off.

Arsenal need a miracle against Monaco. Not exactly hopeful, but we did beat AC Milan 3-0 a few years ago after losing the first leg 4-0 so I retain a small modicum of hope. Man City lost to Burnley and are on terrible form, which means they'll win on Wednesday.

The draws for the final 8 have been done. I like Bayern's draw. Proto shouldn't be a push over, but I'd say the best 5 times in no order is Bayern, Barc, Real, Atletico and PSG. Two of those will be knocked out without Bayern having to play them.

Well Robben is out for a few weeks, we should be able to beat Porto without him, but if we don't get Robben back to 100% then we won't be able to beat Real or Barc.

Let's not even mention Barcelona, hopefully Madrid can win though.

Well, as I expected Arsenal came up one goal short. Bugger.

    My predictions below:

PSG v Barcelona - PSG are a pretty good team but with Messi back to his best in the last few months Barca are just looking too good.

Atletico Madrid v Real Madrid - RM have struggled for form but they played pretty well even in defeat in El Clasico and Atletico aren't exactly firing on all cylinders either.

Porto v Bayern Munich - Bayern should be able to manage without Robben, but there's no doubt this tie has become a lot more interesting without him.

Juventus v Monaco - not to sound bitter but we went out to Monaco because of our horrible self-inflicted defending in London. I doubt Juventus will make the same mistake.

I agree with all but I'm thinking Atletico over Real. Atletico has done very well against RM and I don't think RM is firing on all cylinders either. Atletico's manager is top notch and I'm hoepful for no Real

Atletico are simply not going to beat Real in my opinion.

RM aren't doing so well, but they have the potential ability to step it up to another level in a way that I can't see Atletico matching. Especially if Ronaldo plays as well as he did for that 20-minute period in El Clasico. It is the closest tie however, and the one that I would be the least surprised if my prediction is wrong.

I've tried to find something better to do with the 15 minutes I spend on the forums every day, but I've always failed!

Well, Porto crushed an error-ridden Bayern, Barca crushed PSG and the other two were pretty close. I did expect Juve to do better but they'll take the win (with the fortunate penalty), and I think both Madrid sides have reasons to be happy - Atletico not conceding the away goal, and Real knowing a win at home will guarantee them progression.

Nearly was a 7-1 if not for a missed goal near the end...

I was worried about that match, thought it would be a stressful match, after about 25 minutes, I was at ease.

Was hoping Atletico would beat Real, though perhaps we can get some revenge.

Barc looks dangerous, though they probably have the weakest defense of the 4 remaining teams.

Robben is hoping to be back by the first leg which as me excited. Thiago has looked great since coming back so I'm excited with getting most of Bayern back come the semi's. Alaba might be back should we make the finals.
