There's no reason for Denver to be desperate. They're out of the running.

I meant they are desperate to prove something. They are looking more and more like last year was a fluke, and I've heard rumblings that there was shady dealings to assure Manning won in his last season (I think they wanted that bad enough, and didn't want Cam to win, but I personally saw nothing to indicate there was anything... fishy going on; other than Miller potentially on something... because last year the dude was scary and this year there isn't as much electricity from him). So this defense needs to prove something. Defensively they are roughly the same team as last year, statistically. Rush defense is a little worse. Offensively, the team is actually better than last season. And yet they've been worse as a team. So the defense, as it usually is, is hungry. The offense may mail it in.

TL:DR - The defense will come to play. The offense may not, but Talib's chirping about the offense is enough to see that they will come to play on that side of the ball.

A crap season. I've noticed that me and Eye, tied for first in the regular season last year, are 2nd and 3rd from bottom this year. I therefore blame him for my underperformance.

I take full responsibility. Are drugs and ruining pick em leagues still punishable by death in Singapore?

The final regular season standings, with byes applied, and the postseason standings are updated in the first post. Congratulations to BigDaddy for a wire-to-wire regular season victory!

However, now its time for the postseason. The rules, simply put: pick a WINNER and a SCORE

You get three points for a correct pick, plus a fourth point if your score is within 15 total points of the actual final score. You get zero points if your winner is incorrect no matter how close the score is.

An additional bonus point is awarded to whomever is closest to the actual score. In the case of ties, multiple people earn the bonus point. Further, should someone get the score exactly right, they would earn three extra bonus points in addition to the other five points they would have earned to that point for a total of eight points from a four-point game.

Tiebreakers are still applicable, it is now a combination your tiebreaker score from the regular season with the number of postseason games you correctly pick.

BigDaddy's lead, though weakened, was never insurmountable in the postseason. There still stands a chance for anybody in the standings to leapfrog to the top with a few, or many, superb picks.

The postseason starts Saturday. I will send a single reminder on Friday for ANY unpicked games. If you do not wish to participate in the postseason please let me know either in this thread of via PM so that I don't mistakenly send you a reminder.

    Otherwise, good luck to everyone!

Dunno if I need to do this now, but I need to CoH already...

Oakland 10 (at) Houston 17 - Savage is hurt, Osweiler is starting, edge Oakland; Carr is hurt, McGloin is hurt, rookie QB making first career start, in the playoffs, on the road... don't matter if I was playing QB for Houston, they should win this game...

    Oakland - 17 (at) Houston - 10
    Detroit - 24 (at) Seattle - 21
    Miami - 14 (at) Pittsburgh - 34
    NY Giants - 24
    (at) Green Bay - 17

Osweiler sucks, Houston's offense sucks in general, Seattle is overrated, Miami sucks, Green Bay's defense sucks.

    My work is done here.

Hey, fuck you, buddy! Not as much as any of the last 7 or so years!

Oakland - 17 (at) Houston - 24 - Only because of the Raiders starting QB. If Houston can't take this one, they should probably delete their account.
    Detroit - 23 (at) Seattle - 26
Miami - 17 (at) Pittsburgh - 28 - If I'm wrong, I'll be pleasantly surprised. From 1-4 to 10-6 and in the playoffs is not where I saw this season going in October.
NY Giants - 34 (at) Green Bay - 31 - I think there's bound to be at least one upset here, and if anyone can do it, it'll be Lil' Peyton.

This is going great already. Without Carr, Oakland looked like the Raiders team we've all seen over the last 15 years... Oakland needs to focus more on defense in the offseason... and wide receivers that can catch.
